Artist’s Edition:

A Synthesis of Sound, Video and Packaging

Have you ever stood on the red carpet and felt like someone very special? It is precisely this feeling that we were able to experience in book form. Together with the internationally renowned artist Louisa Clement, we developed an artist’s edition, which is a cinematic extension of the  “Representatives” exhibition catalog from earlier in 2021.

The soft-touch feel of the cover of the book has the title “Human Error”. The artist is reflecting on her museum project “Double Bind”,  which was on view at the Kunsthalle Gießen until the end of October 2021 and shows images of herself in the form of artificially intelligent human dolls.

The exclusively manufactured case contains the video book as well as the  “Louisa” book, with an integrated sound box, published on the occasion of the exhibition and which we also created in close collaboration with the artist. The work is available in a limited edition of 10 signed copies, plus 5 artist proofs.

You can feel the high quality of the cover the first time you touch it, which is reminiscent of velvety skin – noble, heavy and silky soft – which reveals the inside like a treasure box when you open the finely woven fabric ribbon. There, embedded in a milled black foam, is the video book for the artist’s current work with a 9-minute film. The black video book takes on the feel of the box and astonishes the viewer with its optical and acoustic brilliance.
